Diploma Courses

Certificate courses are a fantastic way to get the qualifications and skills you need for a job in engineering. We’ll look at what they are, how long they last and how much it costs.

A certificate is an award given to a student who completes a program of study at an educational institution. Diplomas are awarded by colleges and universities, as well as by professional associations and other institutions.

Types of Diplomas

A diploma is a course of study that leads to a qualification, such as a degree or postgraduate qualification.

Diplomas are normally awarded by educational institutions, but there are also some private providers who offer diplomas in their own right.

In most cases, you will need to complete an entrance exam before being accepted onto the course and awarded your Diploma Certificate or Diplomas. However, if you already have some previous qualifications (such as GCSEs) then these can be taken into consideration by your chosen provider when deciding whether or not you should go ahead with their course of study.

Duration of Diploma and Certificate Courses

The duration of diploma and certificate courses varies. Certificate courses are usually 2 years, but can be longer. Certificates usually take 1 year to complete, with some offered part time.

Eligibility criteria to pursue a diploma course

To pursue a diploma course, you need to meet eligibility criteria. These include:

  • Age – You must be at least 18 years old and have completed your secondary education.
  • Education – You are required to possess at least 10 years of formal education or equivalent work experience in any field (it can include vocational training).
  • Eligibility Criteria – Your qualifications should be as follows:
  • English Language Proficiency Test (ELPT);
  • High School Diploma; or
  • Matriculation Certificate

Benefits of doing a Diploma Course

There are many benefits to doing a diploma course.

  • A short duration means you can study on your own time, at your own pace and get the results you want. It also means that if you need to take some time out of studying or have other commitments, this isn’t an issue as it won’t affect your grade or degree.
  • The cost of tuition is reasonable compared with other higher education options like university or college courses which can be very expensive depending on where in the country you study (and whether there are any scholarships available).
  • You’ll have more flexibility than someone who has chosen a more traditional route into higher education – e.g., studying at university level requires specific entry requirements and may involve attending lectures every day; whereas doing a diploma course allows greater freedom in choosing modules within certain themes so that they suit what interests you most!
