Top 10 Myths that every NEET Aspirant must know

You must be ready for life in medical colleges if you pass the NEET if you plan to take the NEET. However, life in medical colleges differs from that of other institutions in India, so one must be aware of what to anticipate and what not to! There are several misconceptions about studying in medical schools, which frequently discourage people from choosing the field.

1)  Hesitation of students to pursue Medical because it takes forever:

Medical school does take a little bit longer than most other professional education, but why not? You are pursuing your education in order to save countless lives. Eleven years is not a long time to examine one of the most esteemed studies, either. To properly complete the process, one must strive to obtain a post-graduate degree in order to specialise in medicine. Just getting a bachelor’s degree in medicine is not enough.

2) To be a brilliant student:

This is a fallacy that also discourages many students from pursuing a career in medicine. The candidate must have a minimum overall grade point average of 55 percent in order to take the NEET. To be eligible to pursue medicine, one need not be the class valedictorian. However, a person’s commitment to the same is crucial.

3) MBBS is for the rich:

This is completely untrue. There is a very good probability that you will get admitted to one of the best medical colleges in India that is supported by the Indian government if you are an excellent student, prepare thoroughly for the NEET, earn top grades, and secure a high rank. Furthermore, there are numerous scholarships available for students to apply for in order to support their entire education if they are very talented pupils.

4) Tough examination process:

It won’t be easy to pass any tough exam to get into the best institutions in the nation. You have chosen to enrol in a prestigious professional programme, where applicants from across the nation must pass an admission exam in order to be accepted. There is no use in learning anything if you decide against studying medicine simply because it includes fierce competition. Furthermore, you won’t have to worry about failing a competitive exam like the NEET if you study properly.

5) Need to drop-out for a year to prepare for the entrance:

This is yet another widespread fallacy that discourages students from choosing a career in medicine. It is not necessary to leave school after a year in order to get ready for NEET. In order to achieve a rank and enter medical school, a candidate does not need to waste their entire career or put it in jeopardy if they begin preparing in class eleven. You may have encountered a number of kids who may have done this in the past, but it was their own decision and not an option. This is never how things will turn out with careful planning.

6) No social life:

It is a well-known fact that those who choose to study medicine typically have little social life. It is a fallacy that doctors lose all of their friends and are unable to spend enough time with their families because they must spend all of their time treating patients and responding to crises. Yes, being a doctor entails responding to situations whenever they arise, but if that were the case, there wouldn’t be as many physicians today, and a lot less applicants would take the famous NEET exam each year.

7) Loving math won’t help in being a doctor:

There is no absolute guarantee that your passion of maths won’t aid you in your medical studies. If you want to spend your entire life studying genetics, mathematics is one of the most essential requirements. So, having a love of mathematics can be useful at any moment.

8) Medical students have to study a lot:

Medical students are no different from any other professional student in that they must study. The best course of action is to study and conduct research if you wish to introduce innovation, technique, or a process to treating patients or looking for ways to save lives. A good medical researcher is very helpful to all of humanity, and only education can aid in this regard.

9) Not getting a good specialization is a waste of studying medicine:

There wouldn’t have been any mechanisation without each and every other speciality, which is significant and necessary. Every type of doctor, from an ophthalmologist to a cardiologist, is significant in their field, thus choosing a speciality is never a waste of time spent studying medicine.

10) Easy way to become rich:

If one wishes to study medicine based on this mind-set, it is a disservice to this wonderful profession. This profession stands about treating patients regardless of their challenges and serving humanity in every way imaginable. When you work in a field where people worship you like a god, becoming wealthy is irrelevant.
